 Linda Powley began her career in dietetics working at Hale Makua, a skilled and intermediate care facility in 1980. She worked in private practice for private physicians, Kaiser, Kula Hospital, Teen Challenge, Aloha House and the ARC of Maui, in addition to serving on several non-profit boards. Ms. Powley was hired full time at Kaiser Permanente Health Plan, Inc Maui as their clinical dietitian and Health Education Coordinator.  In that capacity, she established Diabetes education, smoking cessation, weight managment, high blood pressure, and heart health programs on the Neighbor Islands. She has been Kaiser's full time clinical dietitian since 1997, to meet the individual needs of Maui Kaiser members.

 Her outside interests include:  Horses, training and providing lessons; reading, yoga, swimming, hiking with dogs, movies. She served as President of Centered Riding, Inc, an international organization of dedicated equine instructors.

 Little known fact: Ms. Powley's  grandfather, Dr. Forrest M Branch, was the first dentist on Kauai. In the early 1900s he had to travel to the plantations and towns by horse and buggy!
